Bio

A physical, imposing and powerful scrum-half, Conor Murray is one of the world's best rugby union players. He currently plays at both club and international level and has a wealth of top honours to his name.

Born in Limerick, Ireland in April 1989, Conor Murray began playing rugby at a young age and initially played Gaelic football with Patrickswell and Limerick. After signing for Irish provincial side Munster, he made his competitive debut in the Celtic League against Connacht in 2010. Since, he has been ever present for his club and has over 150 appearances to his name.

Across his club career Conor Murray has won numerous accolades including the Celtic League (now PRO14) in the 2010-11 season, as well as the Munster Player of the Year in 2015 and the World Rugby Men's 15s Team of the Decade. On top of this he is also widely regarded amongst the top scrum-halves in the world right now and recently showed his commitment to the club by signing a new long-term deal with Muster and Irish Rugby.

On the international stage Conor Murray is also held in high regard. Having previously played for the Ireland U20. in 2009, he made his debut for the national side in a warm up game for the 2011 Rugby World Cup against France after being selected for the Ireland squad. He has since been a regular for the side and just a few of the honours he's achieved include Six Nations Championship wins in 2014, 2015 and a Grand Slam and Triple Crown in 2018.

Conor Murray was also one of three scrum-halves selected for the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia and he got his second call up in 2017 for the tour to New Zealand. In May 2021 it was announced he was selected for the upcoming 2021 tour to South Africa.
