Bio
Cyrielle Banet is a French rugby union player who represents the France women’s national rugby team and her club, Montpellier, as a wing.
Banet has represented Montpellier for the entirety of her senior career. After impressing for the squad, she was called up to the French team for the 2018 Six Nations Championship. She impressed immediately, scoring a try in matches against Ireland and Scotland, before registering a brace of tries in a victory against Italy.
Returning for the Six Nations Championship in 2020, she once again performed well, scoring two tries against Italy. Then, a week later, she scored another two tries in a match against Wales.
She continued to represent France in the Six Nations Championship in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2021, she offered more impressive performances, helping France defeat Ireland with two tries. Later in the year, during the Autumn Internationals, she scored another two tries against the Black Ferns, helping the side to a memorable 38-13 victory.
In 2022, Banet was named as part of the squad for the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup. Unfortunately she was unable to represent her team due to an injury.
Banet has excelled in her career so far and been a pivotal member of the French team. With so many impressive performances already under her belt, we can’t wait to see more from the French wing.
