Dan Cole Bio

Dan Cole was one of the finest tighthead props of his generation. Throughout his stellar career, he made more than 300 appearances for Leicester Tigers and was capped more than 100 times by the England national team.

Born in Leicester in May 1987, Dan Cole made his debut for Leicester Tigers in an EDF Energy Cup match against Bath in 2007. However, he ultimately spent his first competitive season on loan to Bedford Blues

The following season he enjoyed a successful loan spell with Nottingham R.F.C., which again helped his development. At the end of this season, he returned to Leicester and showed his improvement - he made an appearance as a replacement as the Tigers beat London Irish in the final of the 2008–09 Premiership.

Dan Cole finally broke into the senior Leicester Tigers side in the 2009-10 season after both Martin Castrogiovanni and Julian White were sidelined with injuries. This proved to be an incredibly successful season for Cole and Leicester won the English Premiership once again. Following this, he became a popular player amongst the fan base and a regular starter for the Tigers. He then earned his third Premiership title in 2013 and his fourth in 2022.

Cole made his final appearances for Leicester Tigers in the 2024-25 season. He played his final game for the club in the 2024-25 Premiership Rugby final against Bath. Sadly, Leicester Tigers lost the match and Cole received a late yellow card. As a result, he ended his career in the sin bin.

At international level, Dan Cole is one of England's most-capped players. Having initially played at U18, 19, 20 and A level, he first joined up with the senior squad for the 2010 Six Nations. He made his debut against Wales and then went on to play all subsequent games in the competition.

Following this impressive start, he quickly made the England tighthead position his own. Subsequently, the last decade has seen Dan Cole earn numerous honours with the side, including Six Nations titles, Grand Slams and Rugby World Cup appearances. He notably played for his country in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final. He retired from international rugby in 2024.

His impressive form for club and country was also instrumental in his selection for the British & Irish Lions in their 2013 tour to Australia and the 2017 tour to New Zealand - he went on to win three caps.

Dan Cole retired from international rugby in 2024 and called time on his club career in 2025. Still loved by fans and players alike, we can’t wait to see what he does next.
