Bio
Ellis Jenkins is a powerful and athletic flanker who currently represents Cardiff Blues and Wales.
Born 29 April 1993, Ellis Jenkins started playing rugby at a young age. His talent for the game immediately shone through and he was quickly signed to play for the Cardiff Blues academy side. After representing Cardiff Blues at academy level, he made his debut for the senior Cardiff Blues side in 2011.
Ellis Jenkins has stayed with the Cardiff Blues ever since he made his debut for the club. After featuring for both Cardiff RFC and Pontypridd RFC at club level, he became a regular member of the first choice Cardiff Blues team in 2014. As a result, he's now made more than 100 appearances for the provincial side and he was a key member of the victorious team that beat Gloucester in the final of the 2017-18 European Rugby Challenge Cup.
Due to his obvious talents, Ellis Jenkins also played junior rugby for Wales. He represented his country at U16, U18 and U20 level. In 2013, he also had the honour of captaining Wales at the Junior World Championship, where the side finished as runners-up.
However, Ellis Jenkins had to wait until 2016 before he made his first appearance for the Welsh senior team. That said, he made an immediate impression and was given the chance to captain the side in 2018.
Sadly, since then, his opportunities have been limited with the national side due to injury. However, still young and with plenty of his best years ahead of him, Ellis Jenkins looks set to be a force on the international stage. We can't wait to see what else he can achieve for Cardiff Blues and Wales.
