Bio
George Ford is one of England's finest ever fly-halves. Over his long and illustrious career, he's won almost every rugby trophy on offer at both domestic and international level and he's even appeared in a Rugby World Cup final.
George Ford is the son of legendary rugby league player Mike Ford. As a result, from the age of five, George played rugby league. However, after first playing rugby union at age 11, Ford developed a natural affinity with the code and played for the England under 18s at just 15 years of age. Shortly after, he signed with Leicester Tigers.
Ever since he was young, George Ford has accumulated a lot of trophies. He captained the England under 18s in 2009/10 before he moved up to the under 20s where he helped the side win an U20 Six Nations Grand Slam. In addition, despite being the youngest fly-half in the tournament, he was instrumental in guiding England to the final of the U20 Junior World Cup. Due to his successes, he was named as the World Rugby Junior Player of the Year in 2011.
From here, George Ford's career has gone from strength to strength. In club rugby, he's won both the Premiership and the Anglo-Welsh Cup. He's also finished as a runner-up in the European Rugby Challenge Cup and twice finished as a runner-up in the Premiership. For England, he's won the Six Nations Championship three times, the Autumn Nations Cup once and finished as a runner-up at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, where he featured regularly.
Since 2017, George Ford has represented Leicester after a successful spell at Bath. Almost every year, it feels as though Ford adds another trophy to his already-brimming cabinet. We can't wait to see what he wins next.
