Bio

Ioan Lloyd is a fly half and fullback who represents Bristol Bears and Wales. A true star of the modern game, he has a huge future ahead of him.

Born 5 April 2001, Ioan Lloyd began playing rugby at a young age. In 2015, he won the Dewar Shield with Cardiff Schools. As a result, he joined Cardiff Blues. However, he ultimately decided to move to England and joined Clifton College.

Due to his pedigree and standing in the game, Ioan Lloyd was in demand even at such as young age. Immediately, he was snapped up by the Bristol Bears academy, where he excelled. As a result of his performances, he also began to represent Wales at the U18 level and he starred at the 2019 Six Nations Festival.

In the first game of the 2019-2020 season, Ioan Lloyd made his debut for Bristol Bears. During the game, he became the youngest-ever player to feature in the English Premiership, and he even scored a try in front of 26,000 fans.

From here, Ioan Lloyd really captured the attention of rugby fans. Only a year later, in October 2020, Ioan Lloyd was named in the senior Wales squad for the 2020 Autumn Nations Cup. He then made his debut for Wales only a month later, when he appeared as a second half replacement in the side's 18-0 win against Georgia.

Now firmly established in both the Premiership and on the international stage, we can't wait to see what Ioan Lloyd can achieve in the game of rugby. He really does promise to be special.
