Bio
Jake Ball is a formidable lock who currently represents Green Rockets Tokatsu in Japan. Throughout his distinguished career, he also represented Scarlets more than 125 times and was capped 50 times by Wales.
Born 21 June 1991, Jake Ball moved to Australia with his parents at the age of 17. While playing rugby in the country, he was scouted by Scarlets, who signed him to a three-year deal. Later in the same year, he made his professional debut for the team in the PRO12 (now the United Rugby Championship).
Following this, Jake Ball went on to make more than 125 appearances for Scarlets between 2012 and 2021. During this time, he helped the side capture the PRO12 title in 2016-17.
However, at the close of 2020, Jake Ball announced that he was leaving Scarlets at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season. At this point, he returned to Australia to reunite with his family. Since, he's signed for Green Rockets Tokatsu in Japan.
Although he's enjoyed a distinguished domestic career, Jake Ball has saved some of his finest performances for Wales. During his international career (which also ended when he moved to Australia), he was capped 50 times by his country and helped guide the Welsh national team to a fourth-placed finish at the 2019 edition of the Rugby World Cup.
Still relatively young and with several years of elite rugby left in him, we can't wait to see what else Jake Ball can achieve in the game.
