Joe Rokocoko Bio
Joe Rokocoko is a former winger who represented a number of top sides during his career, such as the Blues in Super Rugby and Racing 92 in the Top 14. Throughout his illustrious career, he was also capped by New Zealand 68 times. Joe Rokocoko was inducted into the RugbyPass Hall of Fame in 2021.
Although he was born in Fiji on 6 June 1983, Joe Rokocoko moved to New Zealand with his family at the age of five. After a promising junior career, he received a scholarship to Saint Kentigern College, where he was a member of the 2001 National Secondary Schools team. From here, he represented New Zealand at U16, U19 and U21 level before he began playing Super Rugby for the Blues in 2003.
Joe Rokocoko stayed with the Blues until 2011 and represented Auckland in the National Provincial Championship, which is currently known as the Bunnings NPC. However, at the end of the 2011 season, Joe Rokocoko left New Zealand for France and signed with Bayonne. After four seasons with the club, he signed for Racing 92, where he won the Top 14 in 2015-16. He then retired from the game in 2019.
Thanks to his glittering performances for his country at representative level and his impressive performances in Super Rugby, Joe Rokocoko represented the All Blacks 68 times between 2003 and 2010. During this period, he was prolific for the national side and scored 46 tries.
Since retiring from rugby, Joe Rokocoko has stayed connected to the game and now primarily works as a coach.
