Jonny Hill Bio

Jonny Hill is an up-and-coming star of rugby union. Now an established player for Exeter Chiefs, he's recently been called up to represent England and the British and Irish Lions.

Born 8 June 1994, Jonny Hill started playing rugby at a young age. However, it was only when his college application fell apart that his rugby career really took off. Determined to stay busy during his gap year, he returned to his local club. After a few impressive performances, he attended a walk-up trial at nearby Hartpury College.

He was an instant hit and within a few months he became a first-team regular and was on Gloucester's radar. Over the course of the next couple of years, Jonny Hill was also drawn into the England U20 team and he made two appearances for Gloucester in the LV= Cup. However, he was held back by a series of injures.

As his contract with Gloucester ran down, Jonny Hill signed for Exeter Chiefs. He then made his debut for the side against his former club. Since then, he's appeared more than 100 times for Exeter and he's played an important role in helping the side capture both the Premiership and the Heineken Champions Cup.

Thanks to his impressive performances for Exeter Chiefs, Jonny Hill was capped for England for the first time in 2020. On his debut, he helped England capture the Six Nations Championship.

In May 2021, it was announced that Jonny Hill had been called up to the British and Irish Lions squad for the 2021 tour of South Africa.

Still only young and with his full international career ahead of him, we can't wait to see what else Jonny Hill can achieve in the game.
