Leanne Infante currently plays as a scrum-half for the England women's rugby union team and Saracens Women. She has represented England in both Rugby Sevens and the 15-a-side version of the game.
Born on 18 July 1993, Leanne Infante started playing rugby at the age of 10. She trained at her school, Park Hill Primary, before moving to the Old Coventrians. Later, she played for the U18s teams at Worcester and Lichfield. Additionally, Infante is also a talented netball player and she previously represented Warwickshire at county level.
In terms of her international career, in 2012 Infante debuted for the England Sevens side and won the 2012 Hong Kong Women's Sevens tournament. By 2013, Infante had made her first appearance for the senior 15s team.
Fast forward four years and Leanne Infante was named to compete at the 2017 Rugby World Cup. She contested the final, which England lost 41-32 to New Zealand.
Despite her success on the international stage, Infante had to wait until 2018 to score her first try. Her shining moment came during the Six Nations, where she scored one of the team's eight tries against Wales. One year later, in 2019, she signed her full-time contract and won the Grand Slam.
Next, Infante was included in the England squad that competed at the 2021 Rugby World Cup. She contested several matches at the tournament, including the quarter-final against Australia and the semi-final against Canada.
Away from the international stage, Infante has enjoyed a successful club career. She signed with Saracens Women in 2013 and rejoined the Premiership side in 2022. In between, she represented Richmond from 2015 to 2016, won the 2017 Premiership with Aylesford Bulls Ladies and the 2021 title with Harlequins Ladies. After this, Infante transferred to Bristol Bears for the 2021-22 season.
A player with more than 50 caps to her name, we can't wait to see what Leanne Infante does next.
