Max Lahiff

Max Lahiff might be best known now for his comedic takes and eccentric personality, but he's also a commanding and powerful prop who currently plies his trade with Bristol Bears.

Born in London in December 1989, Max Lahiff played rugby from a young age and while at Wellington College won the U18 Daily Mail Cup. As a youth he joined the academy at London Welsh and later London Irish and made his senior debut in 2009. Max Lahiff would spend four years with the Exiles playing more than 70 times and earning a reputation for his physicality and forceful playing abilities.

At the end of the 2012-13 season, Max Lahiff headed to New Zealand and spent a season with provincial side Hawkes Bay, playing in what was the ITM Cup (now the Bunnings NPC). He then moved to Australia to play a season with the Melbourne Rebels but in 2015 returned to the UK and signed for Bath Rugby.

Lahiff would go on to enjoy a successful spell with the Somerset club and in the 2017-18 season helped them to a runner-up finish in the former Anglo-Welsh Cup (now Premiership Rugby Cup). After five seasons Max Lahiff departed Bath and was set to join Clermont, but this fell through due to an alleged injury. Instead, he joined Bristol Bears and currently plays in the Gallagher Premiership.

Max Lahiff has yet to earn any international caps for England, but he could also play for Australia, as he qualifies through his father. Outside of his rugby union career on the pitch, he also regularly features as a pundit and commentator on the game and is famed for his often bizarre analysis.
