Bio

Owen Farrell is one of England's finest ever fly-halves. As well as being the country's captain, he's appeared almost 100 times for the national side and has also represented the British and Irish Lions on numerous tours. Owen Farrell was inducted into the RugbyPass Hall of Fame in 2021.

Born on 24 September 1991, Owen Farrell initially grew up playing rugby league for Wigan St Patricks. However, when his dad Andy signed for Saracens, Owen was introduced to rugby union for the first time.

Farrell took to the new code quickly. At the time of his appearance in 2008, he became the youngest player ever to appear in a professional rugby union game in England when he played for Saracens in the EDF Energy Cup only 11 days after his 17th birthday.

Other than a loan spell at Bedford Blues, Owen Farrell has played for Saracens throughout his entire senior career. During this time, he's won both the Heineken Champions Cup and the Premiership title on multiple occasions. He's also become the club's record point scorer and was named European Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018.

Although he's been hugely impressive at club level, Owen Farrell has arguably been even more impressive on the international stage. During his time representing England, he's won the Six Nations Championship three times and the Autumn Nations Cup once. He also captained England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. In doing so, he led the side all the way to the final.

During his illustrious career, Owen Farrell has also been a regular for the British and Irish Lions. In 2013, he was part of the side that won a tour in Australia. Then, in 2017, he played a pivotal role as the team drew with New Zealand. In May 2021, it was announced that Farrell was a member of the British and Irish Lions squad for their tour of South Africa.

With many years of his professional rugby career still ahead of him, we can't wait to see what the future holds for Owen Farrell.
