RG Snyman Bio

Born as Rudolph Gerhardus Snyman on 29 January 1995, RG Snyman took to the game of rugby union at a young age and he represented the Blue Bulls from primary school level.

While representing the Blue Bulls at the U18 Craven Week tournament in 2013, he was spotted by scouts and was selected to represent the South African schools team.

After completing secondary school, RG Snyman joined the Blue Bulls Academy. After a year with the U19s, he was named in the Bulls’ Super Rugby squad for the 2015 season in spite of the fact that he hadn’t yet featured in a first-class match.

Since then, RG Snyman has represented some of the world’s elite domestic teams, including the Blue Bulls (2015-16), the Bulls (2015-19), Mie Honda Heat (2017-2020), Munster (2020-2024) and Leinster (2024-present).

Although he’s enjoyed a stellar domestic career, RG Snyman is perhaps best known for his appearances for the Springboks. Ever since he made his South Africa debut in 2018, he’s been a force on the international stage and he helped his country capture back-to-back Rugby World Cup titles in 2019 and 2023.

With many years of elite rugby still ahead of him, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for RG Snyman.
