Bio

Despite his relatively young age Rhys Carré is fast becoming one of Wales' best loosehead props. A strong and tenacious prop, he currently plays for Cardiff Blues and made his debut for the international side in 2019.

Born in Cardiff, Wales in February 1998, Rhys Carré began playing rugby union at school before being signed as a youth for hometown club Cardiff Blues. It was with the Blues he honed his professional abilities and quickly became one of European rugby's most exciting prospects.

Having spent three seasons with Cardiff, he left the Welsh capital in 2019 and signed for then European champions Saracens. However, Rhys Carré only spent one season with the North London side making just eight appearances, and most recently returned to the Blues in the summer of 2020. Since going back to his hometown club, his domestic career has continued to go from strength-to-strength and he's now a regular starter and fan favourite with his aggressive and determined style of play.

Rhys Carré made his first appearance for the Wales national side in August 2019 where he played in a warm-up game for the 2019 Rugby World Cup against Ireland. He then received a call up for the squad and came off the bench to play in the semi-final defeat against South Africa. A loss he would later refer to as 'devastating'. Rhys Carré scored his first try for Wales in the 2020 Six Nations against Scotland.
