Bio
Richie Gray is an outstanding lock who currently represents Scotland and Glasgow Warriors. He's known for his 6ft 10in stature and his long, peroxide blonde hairstyle.
After playing for provincial sides Glasgow Hawks and West of Scotland, Richie Gray began his professional rugby career with Glasgow Warriors in 2008. Although he enjoyed a successful stint with the side and was even named in the PRO12 Dream Team at the end of the 2010-11 season, he left for Sale Sharks at the close of the 2011-12 season.
However, Richie Gray only stayed with Sale Sharks for one season and only made 16 appearances for the side. At the end of the 2012-13 campaign, he left England and signed for Castres Olympique in France on a three-year deal. At the end of this contract, he announced that he'd signed a four-year contract with Toulouse, starting in 2016.
His time with Toulouse was highly successful and he won the French Championship in 2019. However, at the conclusion of his contract with Toulouse in 2020, Richie Gray decided to return to Glasgow Warriors on a two-year contract.
Although he's enjoyed a stellar domestic career, Richie Gray is arguably best known for his appearances on the international stage. Since 2010, he's been capped more than 65 times by Scotland. Plus, he was named in the British and Irish Lions squad for the 2013 tour of Australia. During the tour, he played a part in the final test.
With plenty still to achieve in the game and several years of top flight rugby left in him, we can't wait to see what else Richie Gray can achieve now he's returned to Glasgow Warriors.
