Bio

Romane Ménager currently plays as a number 8 for the France national rugby union team and Montpellier Hérault Féminines. She made her international debut in 2015 and played at the 2021 Rugby World Cup.

Born on 26 July 1996, Romane Ménager started playing rugby for LMRC Villeneuve d'Ascq at the age of seven. Her early talent was mirrored by her twin sister, Marine Ménager.

The pair kicked off their club career at the age of 18, when they both signed to Lille MRCV and made their league debut. The following year, in 2015, Romane earned her first international cap. Two years later, she was named in the 2017 Rugby World Cup squad.

To date, Ménager has played for two clubs. After 14 years at Lille MRCV, both sisters left the club in 2018. Romane and Marine transferred to Montpellier and they have remained here ever since.

A few years later, both sisters competed at the 2021 Rugby World Cup. Romane produced several spectacular performances. This includes France’s semi-final with New Zealand, in which she scored two tries. As a result, she was selected to start in the bronze final against Canada—France triumphed with a 36-0 victory.

Since then, Ménager has continued to excel. In particular, she has proved to be one of France’s greatest weapons at the Six Nations. She dazzled at the 2023 tournament, where she crossed the try line during the first minute of France’s match against Wales in round four.

Next, Ménager outdid herself in 2024. She was named Player of the Match in France’s 15-5 win against Scotland, nominated for the Six Nations Player of the Championship award and secured her place in the Six Nations Team of the Championship.

A talented and skillful number 8, we're sure we haven't seen the best of Romane Ménager just yet.
