Tadhg Beirne Bio

Born 8 January 1992, Tadhg Beirne began playing rugby at a young age. Thanks to a string of excellent performances in his youth, he was picked up by the Leinster Academy and eventually graduated to the first team in 2015. However, after only four appearances off the bench for the first XV, he was released in 2016.

After his release from Leinster, Tadhg Beirne signed for Scarlets. He made an immediate impact for the side and played a crucial role in their successful 2016-17 season, when they captured the Pro12 title. This was their first piece of major silverware since the 2003-04 season.

After making more than 50 appearances for Scarlets, Tadhg Beirne moved back to Ireland in 2018 when he signed for Munster. In his first full season with the club, he was named in the 2018-19 Pro14 Dream Team. This was the second time he earned the accolade in as many seasons.

Fast forward to the 2022-23 season and Tadhg Beirne won the United Rugby Championship with Munster. A year later, in 2024, he was officially named as the club’s captain.

Due to his impressive performances for both Scarlets and Munster, Tadhg Beirne has been a regular for Ireland over the years. He made his debut for the national team in 2018 and has since won two Six Nations Championships, including a Grand Slam in 2023.

Thanks to his success on the international stage, Tadhg Beirne was called up to represent the British and Irish Lions on their 2021 tour of South Africa. He played in two tests on the tour, featuring as a replacement on both occasions. He’ll represent the British and Irish Lions again in 2025, as he was named in Andy Farrell’s squad for the tour of Australia

With a string of impressive performances for club and country behind him, we can't wait to see what else Tadhg Beirne can achieve in the game.
