Bio

Thibaud Flament is French lock/flanker who has represented a number of top clubs throughout his senior career, including Club Newman, Loughborough Students and Wasps. In 2020 he joined Top 14 club Toulouse. Plus, since 2021, he has represented the France national team.

Born in Paris on 29 April 1997, Flament grew up in Brussels and started playing rugby at age eight for ASUB Waterloo. At 18, he moved to the UK to pursue his college studies at Loughborough University.

Whilst at Loughborough he began playing for Loughborough Students RUFC. Then, in 2017, he spent a year in Argentina on a university placement. Here he joined Club Newman. He then returned to Loughborough where, after impressing the club in his previous year, his position in the first team was now highly established.

His performance at Loughborough gained him recognition with Wasps and, in 2019, he joined the team’s academy. During his first professional appearance for Wasps, he scored a try against Saracens during the 2019-20 Premiership Rugby Cup.

In August 2020, Flament signed for Toulouse. During his first year, he won the 2020-21 Top 14 as well as the 2020-21 European Rugby Champions Cup. He’s since won both competitions again on numerous occasions.

Fabien Galthié noticed Flament’s talents and, in October 2021, called him up to the French national senior team. He scored a try on his debut in a match against Argentina. In 2022, he won both the 2022 Six Nations Championship and the Grand Slam.

Throughout his career Flament has displayed outstanding skills, and with many more years ahead of him, we’re excited to see where the game takes him.
