Tim Visser

Tim Visser is a former winger and fullback who represented Newcastle Falcons, Edinburgh and Harlequins. Despite being born in the Netherlands, he represented Scotland 33 times at international level.

Born 29 May 1987, Tim Visser started playing rugby in the Netherlands. However, after being spotted by scouts playing in the Amsterdam Sevens, he moved to England and joined Barnard Castle School. He also went on to represent England Schools at U18 level in 2005.

Tim Visser's professional career began with Newcastle Falcons. As a teenager, he burst onto the scene and scored a match-winning try on his debut. Following loan moves with Northampton Saints and Darlington Mowden Park, he returned to Newcastle and again excelled. As a result, he decided to leave the club and sign for Edinburgh Rugby in 2010.

In each of his four seasons with Edinburgh, Tim Visser finished the season as the top try scorer in the PRO12 (now the United Rugby Championship). In his 130 appearances for the side between 2010 and 2015, he notched an impressive 345 points. To date, he remains Edinburgh's record try scorer.

However, in 2015, Tim Visser sought a new challenge. As a result, he left Edinburgh and signed for Harlequins. He then stayed with the side until 2019, when he retired.

Although he was born in the Netherlands, Tim Visser opted to play international rugby for Scotland after meeting residency requirements in 2012. Between 2012 and 2017, he was capped 33 times by his adopted country.

Since retiring from all forms of rugby in 2019, Tim Visser has moved into the property industry.
