Super Rugby Pacific season usually starts in February. This tournament is structured into 14 rounds, with each team facing each of their 11 opponents in a round-robin format. Teams also play three local derbies. At the end of the season, the highest ranking teams progress to the knock-out stages.

Super Rugby Pacific follows the same points system as other international rugby union competitions. This includes four points for the winning team and two for a draw. Additionally, the bonus point system is also used in the tournament, with one point awarded for a team that scores four or more tries, and one extra point for a team that loses by seven or fewer points.
