Worcester Warriors
The Worcester Warriors are one of England's finest rugby union clubs. They're the pride of Worcester and regularly battle for honours in the English Premiership.
Worcester Rugby Club was formed back in 1871 and the club played its first ever game against the Royal Artillery Rugby Club in November of that year. Fast-forward 100 years and when rugby's league system was introduced, Worcester Rugby were placed in North Midlands Division One, which was a level eight league.

However, ever since, Worcester Rugby Club have skyrocketed up the rugby leagues. In 2003-04, the club decimated the competition in National Division One (now the RFU Championship), winning all 26 games they played. As a result, Worcester Rugby Club (who were known as the Worcester Warriors after a name change the previous year) were promoted to the Premiership.
The next year, the club defied the odds in one of the most dramatic seasons of Premiership rugby ever. The Worcester Warriors were odds-on favourites to be relegated from the Premiership, but they survived on the last day of the season after they won a 'winner takes all' end of season finale against Northampton.
Against the odds, the Worcester Rugby side remained in the Premiership for six seasons after their promotion. However, since the 2009-10 season, the Worcester Warriors have been relegated on two occasions. That said, both times the team has been relegated from the Premiership, they've been promoted from the RFU Championship at the first attempt.
During the professional era of rugby, the trophy cabinet at Sixways Stadium has been relatively bare. Since the start of the 21st century, Worcester Rugby Club have won the RFU Championship title on three occasions and the British and Irish Cup once. However, the Worcester Rugby team have not won the Premiership or a European competition. But, they have finished as runners-up in the European Shield and the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
